California Junior Scholastic Federation (CJSF)
CJSF is a statewide organization which exists to promote and recognize high standards of student scholarship, service and citizenship. Students must make an application to join CJSF each trimester. The collection dates are listed in the student handbook and posted on the school website calendar.
Membership qualifications are:
Student must have a minimum of 8 points in the four academic classes (ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Science)
Points are calculated by:- A = 3 pts
- B = 1 pt
- Students may not have any D's or F's on their trimester report card
- Students may not have N's or U's in their citizenship grades on their report card
- Advanced 8th grade Integrated Math may earn 2 points for a B
- Students are recognized for their scholarship, service, and citizenship as CJSF members at the end of the year awards ceremony. Students may earn an honor medallion at the end of the 8th grade by being a CJSF member for two 7th grade trimesters and two 8th grade trimesters.
7th grade students may apply for CJSF at the end of the first trimester.8th grade students may apply for CJSF at the beginning of the year.
