First grade truly is a year of many "firsts". It's the first full day of school, the first time on the lower field for recess, the first time for three whole recess breaks, and the first time the whole class is at school all day. We see the TK and Kinders and know that we are "the big kids" now. First graders work hard at growing their reading, writing and math skills. First graders get very excited about studying Science and Social Studies topics - like the other "big kids". Finally, first graders are learning how to be safe, respectful and responsible citizens of Hermosa Elementary. It's going to be an amazing year!

I have been teaching at Hermosa Elementary since 2003, but I've been teaching since 1987. I have always taught primary students, and have enjoyed watching former students grow up, graduate, and occasionally, pay me a visit. Teaching is an investment.
I am passionate about giving my time and attention to students. Every year I look forward to working with children, and with their families. I am honored to teach these young learners, and leaders.
Good communication is so important! I update my families through weekly newsletters in the homework packets, and through Class Dojo. I can also be contacted through my school email.
