Let me introduce myself! As always this new school year has me excited and rearing to go. I have some new faces, new challenges, and great things in store. I am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of your children and embarking on another learning adventure. With your children spendingso many hours of their day with me, I'm sure you welcome the opportunity to learn something about this woman who has charge of someone very near and dear to you. So here goes.
I am a former Marine Segeant, former stay-at-home mom, and will be celebrating my 31st year of marriage to my husband Paul (also a former Marine) in November. I have been described as a loving disciplinarian. I do run a tight ship with lots of hugs and encouragement, not unlike they way I raised the two sons of my own.
My husband and I successfully raise two boys to be productive and responsible young men. Bronson, our oldest is 27 years old, a husband, and a graduate of USC's Engineering program . He has been working for Tesla for four years now and is one of the senior engineers in interior design. He and his wife Marissa will be celebrating their four th anniversery in January. My youngest son Saxon is Graduating this year from Chico State's Engineering program and has just completed his second paid internship with Tesla over the summer.
I was a parent volunteer in my sons' classroms for over eight years (most of them at this very school) so I have experienced both sides of the education equation. I was inspired and encouraged by what I saw going on here and was encouraged to join the ranks of these fine educators-my colleagues. As a result of my enriching experiences, I have an open door policy and welcome parent volunteers. Maybe I will inspire in you the desire to teach, as I was inspired years ago.
My qualifications are as follows: I attended Claremont Graduate University and earned my Masters in Education.I am also a third generation teacher. The reason I teach is because I enjoy unlocking young minds and helping them to discover their abilities and gifts. I truly feel that teaching is what I was meant to do and am grateful that I found my niche. I am fortunate to I like what i do to earn a living!
Finally, I am excited about teaching your fifth graders and I know we're going to have a fantastic year. I look forward to building a relationship with you as well as my students because I firmly believe that a team effort is the most effective way to successfully teach your children. I know we'll make a great team! If you ever need me I can be reached by phone or email. Here's to a great and productive school year!
