    Dear Jasper Families,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!  It is guaranteed to be filled with learning and growth for each and every student.  Jasper staff will continue to focus on educating the whole child and find innovative ways to make learning relevant and meaningful for our students.  We are committed to our rich tradition of excellence and student success, and will be diligent in creating optimal learning conditions for all.

It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as the new proud principal of Jasper Elementary School.  Jasper has a tremendous reputation for having a warm and welcoming school campus, dedicated staff and a highly supportive parent community.  I am committed to continuing the legacy of educational excellence that has been paved by the leaders who have come before me. As we collaborate while building a positive educational experience that prepares our students for a successful future, it is my hope to facilitate a positive school climate and culture that empowers our students to be thoughtful citizens committed to making an impact in their world.

My passion for education has been shaped throughout my lifetime, but more specifically, over the past 16 years in various teaching and educational leadership roles.  My experiences include teaching kindergarten, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade, Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA), Response to Intervention (RtI) Coach and assistant principal.  I am a passionate educator who believes in life-long learning and promoting literacy. My academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in communications at The Ohio State University, multiple-subject teaching credential at University of La Verne, master’s degree in education at University of La Verne, master’s degree in educational administration from Concordia University Irvine and a doctorate in educational leadership with an emphasis on educational psychology from the University of Southern California.

Please join me in welcoming our new Jasper staff members.  We are excited to have Miss Sarah Moore and Mrs. Delanie Emilio join our teaching staff.  Ms. Kelly Delacuz will be our new secretary. On our custodial staff, Hector Villegas will be the new daytime lead while Tommy Baker will be joining our night team.  Additionally, we welcome Jorge Martinez as our school psychologist. For any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me at (909)484-5050 or bacosta@alsd.org.

Our Jasper staff has been hard at work preparing for the start of the school year.  We look forward to welcoming each and every Champion on the first day of school, Monday, August 5th!

    With warm regards,

    Rebecca Acosta, Ed.D.
