• Homework is an extension of classroom instruction related to learning objectives and grade-level content standards.  It may include pencil and paper tasks as well as reading, internet searches, watching a specific program, long-term projects, etc.  With the exception of long-term projects, homework should not be assigned on weekends or during winter or spring break. 
     
    Based on research, the following time guidelines have been established:
    • Primary students: 10-30 minutes per night.
    • Upper elementary students: 30-90 minutes per night.
    • Middle school/junior high students: 50-120 minutes per night.
