New Teachers, Staff Join ALSD for 2020-2021 School Year

Seven new teachers and another six administrators and staff members have joined the Alta Loma School District to kick off the 2020-2021 school year.

“We’re delighted to welcome such a talented and eager group of employees to the Alta Loma School District,” ALSD Superintendent James Moore said. “I know they will thrive and that our families will be happy to get to know each of them. Unfortunately, those personal meetings may be delayed because of the Covid pandemic, but we are glad to have them on board.”

Two new directors have joined the ALSD team. Lisabeth Piña has been named director of special education and Christopher Becerra is the new director of child development. In addition, the district has hired Carissa Razo as a school psychologist

The list of new teachers includes Amanda Carlson at Banyan Elementary School (6th grade), Bailey Jackson at Hermosa Elementary (3rd grade), Kendall Fortugno at Deer Canyon Elementary (kindergarten), Kerry Veylupek at Carnelian Elementary (2nd grade), Michaela Jansen at Vineyard Junior High (physical education), and Patty Huynh and Gasiha Alvarez (Spanish) at Alta Loma Junior High.

Susan Evans is the new school secretary Stork Elementary and Janea Wynn-Liggins is now the clerk at Jasper Elementary. Victoria Carrera moves to the full-time clerk position at Carnelian.
