A Message From Principal Bires…
On behalf of Assistant Principal Kristin Bowyer, the teachers and staff, and I, welcome you to the 2022/2023 school year. The Stork Elementary team is excited to start this year with new staff, new students, and a new vision. This year’s theme is “Together, We’re Better,” which brings this all together!
Ms. Bowyer and I are very familiar with the community and school district, as we are both long-term residents in the area, and our previous assignment was as the administrative staff of Hermosa Elementary School. My children are students within the district, so I have the experience of both parent and educator when it comes to our school district.
My style as a principal is to be out of the office and “on the ground” with the students, teachers, and staff. I feel this is the best way to monitor the tempo of campus, progress, and quality of your child’s education. I take it as a personal responsibility that you have entrusted your child’s early education with me.
As a wife of a retired police officer, I am very cognizant of issues that occur throughout our nation when it comes to student, staff, and parent safety and security. I take these issues seriously and am always open to your suggestions, concerns, and questions.
I can’t wait to meet all the Stork Superstars! All students must bring a backpack and a reusable water bottle daily. This year our state is providing free lunches for all students; however, students can bring their own lunch from home if they wish.
The first school day is Monday, August 8th, at 8:10 am. All kindergarten students attend our Early Bird session from 8:10-12:15 pm.
Go Superstars!

Valerie Bires, Principal
