Hi Cardinals! No School on Monday! And don't forget-trimester 2 ends on Friday!

Carnelian Cardinals continue to show kindness by collecting donations to give to schools that were recently affected by the wildfires. Please see the attached flyers for more information on how we can continue to show kindness to everyone!

Carnelian is kicking off the Kids Heart Challenge tomorrow! Don't forget to login and register for your Carnelian student to participate in the Kids Heart Challenge! Students will be collecting donations for such an amazing cause - the American Heart Association, which is helping those who have been impacted by heart disease or heart-related illnesses. Students can complete Finn's mission and learn about life-saving measures, such as Hands-only CPR. We are having our kick-off assemblies tomorrow, so students will come home and tell you more about the opportunities for prizes as they embark on the Kids Heart Challenge!

Hello Carnelian Families! Next week, we are inviting all students to participate in the Great Kindness Challenge! Please check your email for more information. Each day next week will be a different spirit day and act of kindness for students to take part in. We love to see our Cardinals being KIND!

Hello Cardinals! Just a reminder that there is no school on Monday for MLK. Have a GREAT 3-day weekend!

Tonight is the last night of the Corky's Dine Out Fundraiser for Carnelian. Pop over to Corky's for dinner, then head to Carnelian at 6:00 p.m. and visit our STEM Fair in the MPR. Students will display their projects and give presentations - come and see!

We are thrilled to announce that we will be opening our doors to students and our entire Carnelian Community tomorrow, Friday, January 10th. Power has been restored to our school site so regular school will resume tomorrow. We look forward to seeing our students and families! We will still be having our monthly Flag Assembly tomorrow at 8:15 A.M. Have a GREAT Cardinal Day!

Carnelian Families-
Please be advised there is still no power at Carnelian Elementary. We continue to work closely with Edison and are hopeful that power will be restored later today. Therefore, Carnelian will remain closed today, January 9, 2025. Unfortunately, without electricity it will be difficult to provide instruction in a warm classroom, hot meals in the cafeteria and communication via phones and internet will not be possible.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. We will continue to work closely with Edison and provide updates regarding power restoration and reopening.
Watch for updates on www.alsd.k12.ca.us. We will also update via social media on Instagram @altalomaschools.
Thank you for your patience and support during this time.

Hello Carnelian Community! We are still waiting for power to be restored at Carnelian. We are hopeful it will be, however, if we still have a power outage by 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 9th, we will send out notification to our families that Carnelian is still closed for students. Stay tuned Cardinals!

Have a wonderful Winter Break Carnelian! We will see our Cardinals in 2025!

Hello Carnelian Families! We are just one day away from entering Thanksgiving Break. We appreciate our community, the partnership and collaboration between staff and families this week for parent conferences. The parking lot has been pretty congested this week with parent conferences and special Thanksgiving themed events, so parking lot reminders will be sent home before we return from break in December. As we head into tomorrow, please be aware of the following important information:
*TK and Kindergarten will all be following the A.M. schedule, which is 8:10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. This means there will be significantly more drop offs in the morning. Please allow for extra time in the morning and your patience is greatly appreciated.
*PTA will be selling tickets after school for the In n Out Fundraising truck that is coming to Carnelian on Wednesday, December 4th (See attached). Tickets are $5 and include a cheeseburger, bag of chips and a drink. A big percentage of the proceeds goes back to Carnelian students for playground equipment, assemblies and other fun incentive activities. Don't miss out on this great opportunity for a yummy dinner!
*Trimester 1 Awards Assemblies for grades 4-6 will be taking place tomorrow morning (see attached). This will also impact the parking lot and traffic. Field parking will not be available for these assemblies, so please allow extra time to park in the neighborhood and walk to campus.
*December to Remember Spirit Days are starting right after Thanksgiving Break! Each day in December will be a special holiday-winter-themed spirit day as we countdown to Winter Break! See the attached the calendar!
More information will be coming soon regarding Carnelian updates for December. Have a GREAT Cardinal Day!

Trimester 1 Awards Assemblies for grades 4-6 will take place this Friday, November 22nd.

Carnelian Community - as we head into parent conference week, don't forget that grades 1-6 are on modified schedule the entire week! Dismissal is at 1:10 Monday - Friday. Then, we head into Thanksgiving Break from November 25-29. Have a great week!

Carnelian Community-we are collecting donations to send to our troops! We will be collecting until November 14th. You will see collection boxes in front of school each day from now to the 14th.
