It's May, which means we only have 13 school days left! This month brings a lot of fun and excitement as we wrap up another incredible school year at Carnelian! Grade levels have fun end of year activities and field days scheduled, so be on the look out from your child's teacher on when the grade level activities are happening! We also have a lot of school-wide events coming up next week, including Open House, Chorus and Band Concerts and Carnelian's Night Out at Quake's Stadium!
Even MORE special is that next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! Our Cardinal Community has the opportunity to show our teachers how grateful we are for what they do each day to help our students. See the flyer below for the daily opportunities to show support and appreciation to our teachers and staff. We will give reminders to students in morning announcements as well!
Our new character trait focus for the month is Creativity. Students will learn that Creativity is using your imagination to create something new or solve a problem. Students will be participating in weekly Character Strong Lessons that explicitly teach students how to be creative and we give reminders in morning announcements as well. Please help us support our Cardinals by continuing to build on their character education. Below is a family newsletter with suggested activities that can be done at home to teach and promote creativity.
Keep your eye on social media, emails and the District app for more specific information about the upcoming events at the start of the school year. If you have not downloaded the Alta Loma School District app for your phone, please download it as soon as possible. You can select Carnelian Elementary as your school and view anything that is posted to the app. We want to communicate information out to our community as efficiently as we can, so please check us out on Instagram too! You can follow our school @carnelian_cardinals and Carnelian PTA @carnelian_pta. Have a GREAT Cardinal Day!"
