Carnelian Community - we want to keep you all safe and healthy!
Due to the poor air quality and weather conditions this week, we are canceling this Wednesday’s assembly on 9/11. However, we still have plans to honor our First Responders with a virtual tribute - more information to come this week!
Thank you to our firefighters who are on the front lines of the wild fires in Southern California. We are forever grateful to you and we hope that everyone stays safe during this time.

Hello Carnelian Community! So far, we have had almost half of our families fill out the School Funding Form! If you have not already filled this out, please take a minute to scan the QR code and fill in your information. This is the fastest and easiest way to ensure we have funding for our students at Carnelian. We receive Title 1 Funds based on the information from the School Funding Form, so it is critical that we get 100% participation from our community. Thank you for your support!

This month, Dr. Sherry Smith, our ALSD Superintendent will be coming to Coffee with the Principal to provide our community with information about Measure G! Please join us in the MPR immediately following the Flag Assembly to find out more about Measure G!

Hello Carnelian Community! Join us this Friday for our first Carnelian Flag Assembly of the school year! Parking will be available on the field. You will receive notification if your child is receiving an award.

No school on Monday! Enjoy the 3-day weekend Carnelian community!

Carnelian 5th and 6th Grade Families! Join us virtually on Thursday night at 6:30 PM to hear from our awesome band teacher, Alexis Barbosa, about our 5th and 6th grade band program!

Carnelian Community! Don't forget to fill out the School Funding Form! Please help us reach our goal of 100% completion! Carnelian receives Title 1 Federal Funds based on the information from the School Funding Form! We use our Title 1 Funds to support student literacy intervention, math intervention and much much more!

Hello Carnelian Families!
Tomorrow night is Back to School Night for grades 1-6. We are looking forward to having our parents and guardians in classrooms so that you can meet your child's teacher and hear about the wonderful things happening in our classrooms and on our campus. We want parents and guardians to be able to hear the presentations, so children/students will not be allowed in the classrooms or hallways as this creates too much noise. If parents and guardians cannot find childcare tomorrow night to attend, then we will have proctors available to supervise school-aged students on the playground while parents listen to teacher presentations in the classrooms.
Parking will be available on the field and gates will close promptly at 7:00 p.m. immediately following the GATE parent meeting in the MPR. Below is the schedule (see flyer attachment as well) - we look forward to seeing you!
Many of our teachers and staff are also Carnelian parents, so they will need to visit their own child's classrooms to see presentations as well. Please help us out by exiting your child's classroom promptly at the end of your child's teacher's presentation time so that our staff can get home to their own families and/or attend their own meetings as parents. Carnelian is truly a family and is made up of a wonderful community of parents, guardians, caregivers, teachers and many more adults who care about our Cardinal students. We are looking forward to having us all together to get our Cardinals ready for another great year ahead!

Join us on Thursday, August 15th for Back to School Night! Meet our incredible Carnelian Cardinal Teachers and staff!

We are looking forward to an incredible first day of school tomorrow at Carnelian! Parents can walk their students onto campus to their class pick lines on the first day of school. Starting Tuesday, we will say goodbye at the front gates. The first few days are going to be HOT! Remember to send your child to school with a water bottle and loose clothing. We will keep them cool and they will be eating lunch indoors until the weather gets cooler. See you all tomorrow!

Superintendent Smith met one last time with her student advisory group this year. Students provided input about the 2024-2025 school year and took a tour of the District Support Center. Thank you student leaders! ❤️

Thank you Trustee Chung for joining in the cyber security fun at Stork today. It was great watching the students working together to solve rigorous problem and you supporting as many of them as you could. ❤️

It was such a great morning visiting several of our school sites and depts. with President Rebecca Davies, and Trustees Brad Buller and Dr. Malinda Hurley. It is always wonderful to meet and greet with our extraordinary staff members, break bread and sip coffee with them, and just enjoy one another’s company. We are truly blessed to serve such a wonderful educational environment. We are looking forward to visiting many more sites tomorrow! ❤️

So proud of ALSD for having 2 Administrators of the Year being honored in Region 12! Directors Lisbeth Pina and Cara Cerecerez are both so deserving and we are so proud of both of them for this great honor! 😍
