Welcome Back Hermosa Families, 

Welcome back to a new school year! I hope you all had a fantastic, restful summer filled with adventure, laughter, and some well-deserved relaxation. The campus has been far too quiet, and our entire staff is absolutely thrilled to welcome our incredible students back to campus for the 2026–2027 school year.

This year, our students aren't just starting a new grade, they are embarking on an epic mission. I am excited to introduce our school theme for the year: "Husky Heroes: Unleashing Your Inner Superhero!"

We truly believe that every single student walking through our doors possesses unique talents, strengths, and superpowers. Whether their power is kindness, a passion for solving complex math problems, artistic creativity, or the resilience to keep trying when things get tough, this is the year we bring those powers to light. As Husky Heroes, our students will learn to stand tall, support one another, and use their abilities to make our school and community a better place.

However, every great superhero has to train, push boundaries, and overcome challenges to reach their full potential. With that in mind, our primary focus this school year is achieving excellence and upping the rigor in everything we do. We are raising the bar academically, encouraging students to think critically, dive deeper into subjects, and embrace complex problem-solving. Growth happens when we step outside our comfort zones, and we will be coaching students to view challenges not as roadblocks, but as opportunities to level up their skills. 

To make sure our heroes are ready for take-off, please make note of a few important upcoming dates:

• TK and Kinder Orientation: July 31st starting at 1:00 PM for Kinder and 2:00 for TK. (Come see your classroom and meet your teachers!)

• First Day of School: August 3rd, doors opening at 8:00 AM for breakfast and 8:15 for all students. 

• First Week of School: August 3rd-August 7th are all minimum days (1:30 release times for K-5). 

• Back to School Night: August 18th starting at 5:00 PM

A superhero is only as strong as their team. Our families are the ultimate partners in this league. Your involvement, encouragement, and support at home are the true catalysts for your child’s success. Together, there is absolutely no limit to what we can achieve. Let’s make this a year of breakthroughs, high achievements, and unforgettable triumphs. Dust off your capes, Huskies—it’s time to fly!
