Hello Carnelian Cardinal Families!

We are weeks away from the start of the 26-27 school year and we couldn't be more excited to see our new and returning Cardinal students! Our theme this school year is "Many Superpowers, One School" and we are excited to help our Carnelian students discover and use their own superpowers! We want everyone to have a successful start to the year, so be sure that if you are new to Carnelian that all of your registration documents have been turned in to complete the registration process. Returning Carnelian families will need to go into Parent Portal and complete the Annual Update. This will allow you to see which class your child will be placed in. Teacher/Class placement will be available for you to view in your Parent Portal on Friday, July 31st after 4:00 p.m. Back to School Night for grades 1-5 will be Tuesday, August 11th at 5:30 p.m.

 We have several important dates for our new Cardinal families! Thursday, July 30th, there will be a New Student Orientation at 10:00 a.m. for any new students and families in grades 1-5. Principal Williams will give a campus tour and answer any questions you have about our wonderful school. On the evening of Thursday, July 30th, we will host a TK Parent Orientation meeting in the MPR at 5:00 p.m. followed by our Kindergarten Parent Orientation meeting in the MPR at 6:00 p.m. These meetings are a chance for parents to meet the teachers, learn which class their student will be in and ask any questions to our TK and Kindergarten teachers. The following day, Friday, July 31st, TK and Kindergarten families can bring their students to Carnelian to meet their teachers and see their classrooms at 11:00 a.m. This is intended to help reduce any anxiety and first day jitters by giving students the opportunity to meet their amazing teacher and see their classroom before school starts.

 Carnelian is proudly the home of the District's CHAMPS Preschool Program! Our CHAMPS orientation is on Friday, July 31st at 10:00 a.m. CHAMPS families and students will meet in the MPR to learn about the program and meet our CHAMPS team, then students and families will go to their classrooms and see all of the great early childhood learning activities our CHAMPS team has to offer. Our littlest Cardinals are in excellent hands and we look forward to collaborating with our families to be sure our preschool students have the greatest start ever!

 Keep your eye on social media, emails and the District app for more specific information about the upcoming events at the start of the school year and beyond. If you have not downloaded the Alta Loma School District app for your phone, please download it as soon as possible. You can select Carnelian Elementary as your school and view anything that is posted to the app. We want to communicate information out to our community as efficiently as we can, so please check us out on Instagram too!
